checkmy is operated by Proxima AI, LLC ("we", "us", "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Automatically Collected

  • IP Address: Your IP address is automatically detected when you visit the Service to provide IP geolocation results on the landing page. This is done via a client-side request to a third-party service (ipify.org).
  • Request Metadata: Standard HTTP request information (user agent, referrer, timestamp) may be logged for operational and security purposes.

User-Provided Queries

  • Domain names, IP addresses, and hostnames you submit for lookup are sent to our API to process your request. These queries may be logged temporarily for rate limiting and abuse prevention.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

  • We do not require account creation or authentication.
  • We do not collect names, email addresses, or payment information.
  • We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes.
  • We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for marketing.

3. How We Use Information

The information we collect is used solely to:

  • Provide the requested network diagnostic results.
  • Enforce rate limits and prevent abuse.
  • Monitor and improve the Service's reliability and performance.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

4. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on the following third-party services:

  • ipify.org: Used to detect your public IP address on the client side.
  • Mapbox: Used to render geographic maps. Mapbox may collect usage analytics subject to their own privacy policy.
  • Google Fonts: Used to load the Geist font family. Google may collect usage data subject to their privacy policy.
  • MaxMind GeoIP Databases: Used server-side for IP geolocation. No personal data is shared with MaxMind.

5. Data Retention

Query logs (if collected) are retained for a maximum of 30 days and are used solely for rate limiting, abuse prevention, and service monitoring. Logs are automatically purged after this period.

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we process. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Since we do not collect personally identifiable information beyond IP addresses and request metadata, there is generally no personal data to access, modify, or delete. If you have concerns about data associated with your IP address, contact us.
